Yarn Along (a day late)

Reading: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Knitting: Lucy's Earnshaw Cowl Vest

Jillian, my fourth grader, and I have hatched a Spring reading plan:  we're going to re-read all of the Harry Potter books together and then have a weekend long Harry Potter movie watching marathon once we've finished reading.

We've both read the series before, in fact Jillian reads it continually, starting again after she finishes it.  I'm looking forward to reading with her and bonding over the words.

I love this girl and I love it when we read books together. I hope she doesn't (ever) outgrow this too soon.

Lucy's Earnshaw vest is this close to being finished.  I had just started the cowl neck when Mia was born last fall and I set most knitting projects aside.  It is nice to pick it up again and work on the simple 2x2 ribbing of the cowl.

Knitting and purling round and round requires just enough of me to keep me mentally occupied these days, but is easy enough to sit down if another long gap in working on the vest happens (something pretty likely as my attention is usually and rightfully on a certain chubby five month old these days).  I figure the warm layer of a vest will be just as welcome this Spring as it would have been last Autumn.

Knitting, but no guilt over lingering projects.  I like that very much!

This post will be linked up to the Yarn Along at Small Things.  If you'd like to see what other folks are knitting, crocheting, and reading then hop over to Ginny's lovely blog and take a peek.
