Sneak Peek of the Coming Week

We have a few things from last week that we didn't get to, so I'm just adding them in for this week.  That is part of the beauty of the file folder system - it is very easy to simply move things ahead a week if I need to.

Preschool (Lucy, age 3):

 Kindergarten (Max, age 5):
The letter C with Oak Meadow Kindergarten
Ideas for letter C Along the Alphabet Path (Serendipity)
Max also joins in with Lucy for the Little Acorn Learning theme.

4th Grade Main Lesson block:
This week, Jillian is focusing on geography for her main lesson.
Jillian also joins in with the Little Acorn Learning activities as she wishes.

From the Book Shelf:
Rhythm
I'm discovering it is a tricky dance to bake with the kids during the day on Mondays when Chris isn't home to help out with the baby.  So, we're experimenting with moving our baking day to Sunday.  On Mondays we will add in a dedicated Nature Study day (or that is the plan for right now, at any rate)

Sunday - White Day

Monday - Purple Day
  • Nature Study - spend some time outside with our sketchbooks and colored pencils, just relaxing and drawing what we see. If it is raining, we'll still spend some time outside, but draw after we come back indoors. I'd like us to gather some of the leaves that are starting to fall, too.
Tuesday - Red Day
  • Painting day - watercolor painting with reds (outside if weather permits)
Wednesday - Yellow Day
  • Coloring - leaf rubbings
Thursday - Orange Day, Michaelmas
Friday - Green Day
  • Practical Life - family fire drill
  • Friday Night Nest - family movie night
Saturday - Blue Day
  • Mom's work - symbols for the children's new homeschool cubbies

What are you going to be up to with your kids this week?

Graphics on this post were purchased from Country Patch Collections.
